I’ve been seeing the ads for crimsafe on the tv of late. Their screw clamped mesh that burglars cannot get through… even with a baseball bat. Firstly, why would you use a baseball bat in Oz? You’d use a cricket bat. And secondly, the ad shows the burglar initially trying to kick down the crimsafe screen door, then trying to smash it with the baseball bat. But get this. The screen door is next to a glass panel. (kinda like this) If you’re trying so bloody hard to break in with a baseball bat, why the hell wouldnt you just break the glass? Stupid advertising.

Now, I’m not the most reverent of people, but I certainly dont take photos of myself and my friends in front of other countries’ war memorials making rude gestures. Yes, that’s right, you asian girls – I saw you, and so did some idignant aussie woman – we saw you pose in front of one of the statues in Anzac Square with your fingers up your noses. I didn’t get to see you for long, but the aussie woman reckoned you were japanese. How’d you feel if we made rude gestures for a picture outside the Hiroshima Peace Park memorials? Learn a bit of respect bitches. I’d slap you if I could.

Why are we so fascinated with looking up to see planes, or helicopters, or cranes lifting loads?
I walked down the street today, and all the traffic on the road was stopped as the crane on the building site lifted its load. And there were a bunch of people on both sides of the road who had stopped to look up at the crane and the load it was lifiting. Do we watch because we’re waiting to see if it’s going to drop?
